CALIFORNIA!!

Here's my trip post!!

Okay, so we left at five in the morning on thursday, March the 27th. We drove all day until we were past Sacramento. The next day, we drove into Palm Dale and visited the church where the family of the groom was setting up for the wedding. Us Hammer kids helped set up for the reception while Mom and Dad previewed the church building. The family that the bride was living with has four kids, and we became friends with them instantly.

After a little while of setting up, we all went over to the church building for the rehearsal. The bride and groom-to-be, the groomsmen and the rest of the bridesmaids came. Our family left part way through the dress rehearsal, it was getting kindof boring.

The next day, we all got up and went to the church at ten. Everything was amazing. The ceremony was short, sweet, and to the point, and the reception was awesome. There was lunch/dinner, a toast, cake, dancing. Then a limousine came to pick up the bride and groom. A whole bunch of kids got to ride in it before the bride and groom were ready. That was definitely a highlight of our vacation. Finally, at around 7:30, we left. We had been at the church for nine hours, and we were exhausted.

The next day, we went to the groom's family's church, then went to his cousin's house (he wasn't there, he and the bride were on their honeymoon!)

Monday was the most relaxing day, and definitely the quietest, though I prefer busy. My family and I went to Redondo beach, walked along the pier, and looked at discusting sea food (I like sea food, but this stuff was gross - whole fish, etc). Then we went to the hotel and swam. Actually, it wasn't that warm, so we sat in the hot tub and watched Katie and Nathan jump into the nonheated pool. I jumped in a few times, and managed to convince Beth to jump in, too. She screamed ˆtwiceˆ!

Tuesday morning, we left for home. We drove âlll dayˆ, and got back the next morning at 3:00 A.M.! We had driven for 19 hours, and 1140 miles! Sorry, Sarah, I think we've got you beat.

And that's our vacation!
